Brewing your perfect coffee


Start with fresh, cold water

Use the correct grind for your device.

Ratio of coffee to water volume is important - about two heaped tablespoons per 6oz cup. If you wish weaker coffee please do not decrease the amount of coffee used as this will only result in a bitter, over-extracted cup. Instead take coffee that is already brewed to normal strength and top up with hot water. This produces a less-intense cup but still retinas the delicious coffee flavour.

Heat the water untill just off the boil. This is achieved by boiling the water and then letting it rest/sit for 15 to 20 seconds.

Filter properly.

Serve immediately or keep in a thermal jug until ready to serve. Coffee that is left to sit on the heat after brewing will pick up an unpleasant scorched taste within 10 to 15 minutes.
